Sunsets in Costa Rica

Our family just returned from an action packed trip to Costa Rica. Without a doubt it was the least restful trip we have ever taken! We spent our first week at a house in Manuel Antonio and woke up early most mornings to participate in the many overpriced activities offered in the country. We explored the national park, went scuba diving, rode horses on the beach, sped through mud on an ATV (four-wheel bike), and we zip-lined through the canopy. We all took turns watching the kids at the beach and the pool - trying to stay cool in the hot and sticky weather. Lawson nearly melted!! One afternoon we were greeted by a troop of nearly 50 monkeys at the house and as they were outside looking in on us, we felt like we were the main attraction at the zoo. We also saw sloths, lizards of all shapes and sizes, birds, and other animals native to the country. Afterwards, we traveled by propeller plane (which was one of the highlights of the trip!) to Playa Ocotal for a family wedding. At Ocotal, we enjoyed our spacious honeymoon suite and its view, the gorgeous sunsets, and more time in the pool. Here, Ethan and I went scuba diving again and experienced one of our best dives ever! We saw (in one single dive) two white tip sharks, a sea turtle, a seahorse, two octopus, four different types of eels, a string ray, a small ship wreck, a scorpion fish, tons of box fish and numerous other colorful fish. It was an outstanding dive experience. Grandma Linny and Grandpa Dickie got some quality time with their grandsons, and thankfully looked after Lawson while we had our fun. Please enjoy the album to the right.
